It's been a while since I've updated this website. To be honest, we've been busy living life. More importantly, we've been busy living with Lyme Disease. My husband, Chad, is in remission. That does not mean he's over Lyme. It means he's living with Lyme. After being diagnosed with Lyme Disease the journey to healing was the light at the end of the tunnel we were looking for. The journey hasn't been easy nor has it ended. My husband went through many more appointment to find the right treatment for him. And, although he's in "remission" he still works hard to living a healthy (healthier) lifestyle.
Part of the journey is connecting with other Lyme patients. The journey is understanding Lyme and helping others through their unknown challenges. The awareness of Lyme Disease is growing. Partly due to the celebrities who aren't afraid to talk about it.
Today, September 19, 2018, Canadian artist Avril Lavigne has released her single "Head Above Water" recognizing that her battle with Lyme Disease barely had her breathing. In a heartfelt letter on her website she talked about her battle with Lyme Disease and how she, "accepted death and could feel my body shutting down. I felt like I was drowning. Like I was going under water and I just needed to come up for air. Like I was in a river being pulled in a current." This is Lyme Disease. But she is finally breathing. Finally living life again! In an interview with Good Morning America in 2015, Avril Lavigne talks about her battle.
I'm so happy to see Lavigne singing again. To see her smile again. To know that there is hope. Listen to "Head Above Water" through her website at https://avrillavigne.com.
